Meta Ads integration
Enable Facebook Pixel
In order to track traffic generated from Meta ads, you need to include Facebook Pixel in your website.
Facebook Pixel is a snippet of JavaScript code that you place on your website to track visitor actions and gather data for optimizing ads, building audiences, and tracking conversions from your Meta ads. It allows Ad Protect identify the fraudulent users that interacted with your ads, without accessing private information.
Here are the steps you need to follow to include Facebook Pixel in your website:
1. Create the Facebook Pixel
- In Meta Business Suite, go to Events Manager.
- Click Add New Data Source → Facebook Pixel.
- Name your Pixel, enter your website URL, and follow the steps to create it.
- Meta will generate a Pixel code snippet for you to add to your website.
2. Add the Pixel to Your Website
Manual Installation
Copy the Pixel code snippet from Events Manager, and paste it in the section of each webpage you want to track.
Integrations
- If you use a tag manager, like Google Tag Manager, you can set up Pixel by pasting the Pixel ID and configuring event triggers.
- Many website platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify) have built-in integrations for Pixel that simplify installation.
Set-up tracking parameters
Setting up tracking parameters is not mandatory, but provides more relevant analytics on your campaigns.
Meta doesn’t have account-level URL suffix settings. However, you can apply tracking across multiple campaigns through bulk editing. To enforce tracking parameters at campaign level, you can follow these steps:
- In Ads Manager, select the campaigns or ads you wish to edit.
- Scroll to the Tracking URL Parameters section and append the following to the URL:
?dd=1&ddsrc=meta&ddcmp={{campaign.name}}&ddcmpid={{campaign.id}}&ddkw={{adset.name}}&ddpl={{placement}}&dddv={{device.platform}}&ddnw={{publisher}}&ddag={{adset.id}}&ddmt={{ad.matchtype}}
